God rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
Hard times cause us to re-examine our lives and seek God as never before, making our emphasis to shift from Lord, here’s what I want’ to ‘Lord, what do You want?’ Sometimes doors are shut at us, only for us to seek out why it was shut in the first place. Consider the story of Hannah. She desperately wanted a son but God wanted a prophet. When she prayed, “LORD Almighty, if you will only look on your servant’s misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head”(1 Samuel 1:11 NIV). God not only gave Hannah Samuel, but also six more children. When you pray for harvest God will ask you to sow a seed. That seed may be something you love and want to hold on to, but don’t rather, surrender to God.
Elkanah had two wives Peninnah and Hannah, but he love Hannah the most, he would give portion of his possession to his wife Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters. But to Hannah he gave a double portion his possession (1 Samuel 1:5). Hannah discovered she couldn’t be satisfied with less than God’s will, when you’re not doing what you know God has truly called you to do, the love of people and material things won’t satisfy you.
Ordained people are not only found in the pulpits. Hannah was ordained to be a mother and she known that it was the will of God for her that was why she refused to be comforted by her husband, her husband Elkanah would say to her, “Hannah, why are you weeping? Why don’t you eat? Why are you downhearted? Don’t I mean more to you than ten sons?” (1 Samuel 1:8). You may be ordained to be a Lawyer, a fireman or a babysitter. Fine whatever God’s called you to do, and do it. Then He blesses us, for God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him
