Faith makes all things possible love makes all things easy

By Chidozie on August 11, 2012

Hebrews 11:1 is the best place to find the Biblical definition of faith “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (KJV).

All I have seen has taught me to trust God for all I haven’t seen. When you obsess over problems instead of looking to God for solutions, the enemy will magnify our fears. If he can’t get you to worry about the present he’ll remind you of everything that could go wrong in the future! The last time you checked, wasn’t God still bigger than any terrorist attack, financial meltdown, illness, accusation, or mess you found yourself in? Well, He hasn’t changed! David said, He won’t go to sleep (Psalms 121:3-8); plus His angels are watching over you 24/7.

The Bible uses the words faith and belief or believe interchangeably. Eternal life is received by grace through faith. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world and without faith it is impossible to please God (1 John 5:4; Heb 11:6).

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20 NIV)

Faith vs. control

It all boils down to faith vs. control. You can struggle to handle things on your own or trust your Heavenly Father. That’s the choice! It not about blind faith, it’s about believing that God is who He says He is. And it’s an issue you need to settle in your mind once and for all, because if you don’t believe He wants only the best for you, you’ll keep trying to run the show. Control isn’t responsibility. Responsibility is doing your part by praying, obeying, and trusting God. Control is manipulating the circumstances to engineer the outcome you want. Jesus knows how we like holding on to things we’re not wise enough to control, so He said, if you want to save your life, you will destroy it. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. (Luke 9:24). Bottom line you either trust God or you don’t!

Verse of the Day

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” — Hebrews 13:5-6 (NIV)
